Chiropractic Adjustments
Everything in your body is controlled by your nervous system. Your heart beats, your stomach digests and your immune system fights off sickness because your brain and body are constantly communicating through your spinal cord and nerves. When your nervous system is not working at 100%, other systems in your body are affected. Your spinal cord is protected by your spine. When the vertebrae of your spine are not correctly aligned or not moving like they should it causes interference of your nervous system. We call this a vertebral subluxation.
Chiropractic care focuses on finding and removing these subluxations through chiropractic adjustments. By removing any interference, your nervous system can communicate with your different body systems and function optimally.
Dr. Jen is trained in several techniques to best serve each patient’s individual needs. Many of the newest techniques are safer, gentler, and more effective than before.

Massage
Massage therapy helps to relieve stress, improve posture and circulation along with many other health benefits! Dr. Jen can perform basic massage techniques as part of your Chiropractic care to help reduce muscle tension, but we also have a wonderful massage therapist, Skye, in our office who you can book an appointment with!
Kinesiotape
Unlike your typical athletic tape or bulky braces that restrict your range of motion, Kinesio tape offers pain relief and support between your appointments while allowing you to move freely. This tape works by stimulating mechanoreceptors in your skin which decreases pain signals to your brain, allowing you to perform your daily activities with less pain. This is the same tape you frequently see on Olympic athletes.
Cupping
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine that helps encourage blood flow to an injured area and break up scar tissue. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation.
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization
This is a manual therapy approach to musculoskeletal injuries using specifically designed tools. It is frequently referred to as “scraping.” A stainless steel instrument is used along the skin to help break up scar tissue or fascial adhesions around a muscle. Conditions treated with this technique: Carpal tunnel, neck/back pain, plantar fasciitis, muscle strains, ligament sprains, and many more.
Corrective Exercises and Stretches
At Family Focus Chiropractic, we teach our patients different exercises to help strengthen and correct irregularities in their body that may be causing pain or could lead to structural issues and pain later on. These exercises can be performed in your own home to improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care.
If you are experiencing pain, it could be due to spinal or other skeletal misalignments. However, it could also be due to your muscles and connective tissues or due to repetitive activities. Dr. Tiffany will identify where your problem is coming from and prescribe exercises and stretches to target to your “problem area” to help your body get back in balance.
Electrical Stimulation
Electric stimulation works by mimicking the natural way by which the body exercises its muscles. The electrodes attached to the skin deliver impulses that make the muscles contract. It is beneficial in increasing the patient’s range of motion and improves the circulation of the body.
